Bellevue, WA, 8/1/2015 – Northwest Heavy Duty, Inc., a Bellevue-based manufacturers rep agency, announced a restructure that significantly expands the firm’s ability to connect suppliers with PACCAR and Daimler Trucks North America.
John Adami and Jon Young, having independently launched rep agencies in the past five years, agreed June 1st to merge their operations to form Northwest Heavy Duty, Inc. The team of Adami and Young represent a combined 60 years of expertise in the design, acquisition, and supply of engineered solutions for OEM applications.
According to Adami, “the merger of our two agencies brings together complementary professional backgrounds, product knowledge, customer relationships, and industry networks. Jon and I can do more to accelerate opportunities working together than either one of us could have accomplished independently.”
Adami, a licensed Professional Engineer and current TMC Board Member who is also active in HDMA and SAE, began his career with GT Development in the early 1980’s, transitioning from technical roles into account management and executive roles. Young’s career started at Volvo with domestic and international purchasing experience. Young later worked as a Commodity Manager at PACCAR, prior to taking account management and executive sales roles at Borg Warner and TTI / Accuride. Both Adami and Young launched successful rep agencies in 2010-2011.
Young provided additional insight into the unique ability of NW Heavy Duty Inc. to add value for their Tier 1 clients. “PACCAR and Daimler combine to manufacture, in any given year, 60 to 65% of all Class 8 trucks in North America. They are considered cornerstone accounts for the entire supply base, and the size and complexity of their organizations creates significant challenges. With our decades of experience, and our close proximity to facilities in Bellevue, Kirkland, Renton, Mt. Vernon, and Portland, we enable suppliers located two or three time zones away to maintain a professional, technical, and intimate presence with a large network of customer contacts.”
The new agency represents a growing list of established Tier 1 suppliers. The list of engineered solutions is expansive, including hard tubing, switches and sensors, lighting, air horns, height control valves, mirrors, clamps, seats, mechanical controls, electronic controls, and blow-molded parts.
